Happy Atoms

Happy Atoms is a physical and digital teaching tool that lets you discover the world of molecules in an intuitive, hands-on way. Happy Atoms fits well into the classroom during lessons including covalent/ionic bonding, valence electrons, octet rule, and more.
The physical component is a set of atom models representing 16 different elements. With these atoms, you can assemble your own molecular models.
The digital component takes this molecular modeling system to the next level. Using the included app and the camera on your iPad® and iPhone®, you can scan the molecules you build. The app then uses state-of-the-art image recognition technology to identify the molecules. It then presents detailed information about 120 of the most important molecules, such as a molecule’s usage, properties, hazards, formula, and structure.
Happy Atoms aims to change the way students learn chemistry by offering a learning experience that sets itself apart.

  • See the difference between elements
  • Feel the forces that bond them together
  • Experiment with ways to combine them
  • Discover the relationships between molecular structure and properties
