Wired is an atmospheric puzzle platformer with a strong story element that also teaches the fundamentals of electricity. No prior knowledge of electricity is presumed.
Concepts taught: *Voltage sources *Loads *Circuits *Resistance *Single and double pole switches *Loads in series *Loads in parallel *Mixing series and parallel circuits *Current *Voltage *Ohms Law *Fuses *Ammeter *Voltmeters
The game teaches all these concepts at an intuitive level allowing people to solve some problems that require these concepts in their heads. However, because of this, the numbers in the problems are kept simple and players are never taught to use algebra to solve more general problems, so players will not be able to jump straight from playing this game to sitting Advanced Placement physics exams.
