SORS is a medical simulation game with a sci-fi story. Players must diagnose patients using spatially offset raman spectroscopy by scanning them. The game mechanics are directly based on research papers for the SORS technique (which is being trialled in a UK hospital). Disease information, symptoms and treatments are also based on real medical advice from the NHS (the UK health service).
The game also encourages players to think in a scientific manner - for example they must formulate their own strategies for analysing the graph and diagnosing patients effectively, especially when time targets are involved.
