Microscopya artwork 1

A review of Microscopya

I thought this game was beautifully illustrated, and the soundtrack was equally wonderful! The creators did a fantastic job of conveying how different aspects of the cell function, and the significance of their role. I admittedly started this game as an assignment for a class I am taking, with the approach of this being something I "had" to do. But, the game structure was engaging enough that I quickly found myself drawn in, wanting to figure out how to advance to the next level. The only constructive feedback I would offer, if anything, is for a tiny bit more context about what each challenge of the game represents. Biology is admittedly not my strong suit, which is why I sought this game, specifically (to see how I would fare as someone who is probably playing at a low-novice level. I was able to navigate the game, and realized there were things about biology tucked deep in the depths of my brain that I thought I'd long forgotten, but yet, I would have appreciated a little bit more of an explanation tucked away with the unveiling of each new challenge level. That said, this game is fantastic – especially so for someone who may be currently studying introductory cell biology.
