A review of Solve the Outbreak

Solve the Outbreak is a well-designed and engaging educational game that makes epidemiology approachable and interactive. The layout is simple and easy to navigate, which allows the player to focus on analyzing the outbreak rather than figuring out how to play the game What I particularly appreciated was the narrative structure. Each case presents a realistic outbreak scenario and then asks the player to analyze evidence, interpret data, and determine the most plausible explanation. This format promotes critical thinking and mirrors the decision-making process used in real-world public health investigations. Rather than passively receiving information, players must actively apply scientific reasoning to progress. Overall, the game balances fun and learning effectively. I found myself genuinely engaged while also reinforcing concepts related to disease transmission and outbreak investigation. It is a strong example of how interactive media can support meaningful learning in science.
